RETURN TO HEADQUARTERS!

Image
MY BAR HEADQUARTERS, CONNAUGHT PLACE Now, I don't drink or smoke, but I do enjoy the company of my dear friends. Thus, after hours of thinking about which place is spacious enough to accomodate 15 people on the go, we finally decided to climb up multiple fights of stairs to reach a timid little entrance way which opened up to a MASSIVE hall-esque place with neon boards hosting brand names and a dark EDM theme to the entire place. Although we had to wait outside, on the balcony to be seated, but that made for a perfect view of Connaught Place. Finally, when we were seated, we were greeted by the bright smile of the waiter. BUT THE ONE THING I DO NOT UNDERSTAND IS WHY DO PEOPLE ORDER FREAKIN CHILI POTATOES EVERY WHERE? Bhai, yeh sab gali ke bahar wale bhaiya ₹50 mei dete hai. If you're out someplace special, try their speciality. Anyway, we got some snacks and multiple chili potatoes and a pitcher of beer. NICE. For a non-drinker, seeing them put this big-as...

BATTLE OF THE TANDOORI MOMOS: QDs RESTAURANT

Image
If you're in a Tandoori Momos Cult, you HAVE to try the ones they serve at QDs. Whether you like it or not, is a different story in the book. I don't want to make this review about the battle of Tandoori Momos in Delhi, but I have to. Because of the polarizing power of these maida-balls of goodness. A single person WILL NOT like both, the ones from QDs and the ones from Hunger Strike. There is a stark difference in the way both are prepared. QDs serves 6 pieces for 150 bucks. Pieces that are massive and dry. But will fill you up nonetheless. Hunger Strike, on the other hand, bathes it's Tandoori Momos in Ghee, Cream and all the tandoori goodness you associate with typical North Indian Tikka-Shikkas. 8 small, but heavy and creamy, pieces that will fill you up too. All for 100 bucks. It's the typical case of 'shaadi ka laddoo jo khaye wo pachtaye aur jo naa khaye wo bhi pachtaye'. You HAVE to travel across Delhi to pick your favorite. ...

STEP THROUGH THE BIG YELLOW DOOR

Image
It's been more than an year since I've been a student in the University of Delhi and it's also been more than an year since I read about Big Yellow Door (GTB-Nagar) on Zomato. Almost every foodie I know has been to this place. My family, my friends, my neighbors, my long lost phuphi jaan from Ajmer have been to BYD.It was about time I gave this place a visit. Given the hype of the place, a 10 minute wait period was justified (Even though it is exam season). But the place is very vibrant, even on the outside. With it's fun multicolored benches outside and it's um well Big Yellow Door to welcome it's guests. The decor is too random, but the shady lighting and music gives it a lounge-esque feel (with tables and chairs though). However, the service of the place could be improved. Anybody and everybody who's in the staff can wipe tables, take orders, handle the cash register and be the Maitre D'. My waiter was nice, however the one s...
