But not anymore. Today, we truly give in to our cravings.  From times immemorial we have been connected by one universal truth: the love for food. For no other love is greater than the love fo...

SUSHI DELIVERED RIGHT TO YOUR DOORSTEP!

Image
SUSHIYA As my dear friend once said, Sushi has always been amazing. The aura around this classic Japanese dish has been built up by years of seeing it on Television, in movies and in cartoons! Just the thought of something being so popular in the eastern civilization was enough to make me try this wonderful dish. I have had sushi before a number of times and that is why, today, I really love it. It's light, clean and tastes fresh everytime I have it. But my friends who try it for the first time almost want to puke. It is really an acquired taste. The sticky rice, the seaweed roll and the protein inside it make it a very complex dish. And then there's the pain of teaching my friends how to use the chopsticks. They end up stabbing the food with it and using it like a fork. Sigh. Neanderthals. I found this wonderful delivery outlet, Sushiya, in Malviya Nagar that was happily delivering Sushi to homes! And I went on ahead and placed an order for my family to try t...

LISTEN TO THE ECHOES - REVIEW - ECHOES, HUDSON LANE

Image
ECHOES, HUDSON LANE Not many places make their mark in the Food and Beverage service scene in Delhi like Echoes has done. The second outlet of the famous cafe that started out in Satyaniketan with a concept that no other restaurant came up with, Echoes has been serving up good food along with smiles for over an year now. But this one in Hudson Lane is relatively new and had a lot to live up to. The idea and concept behind Echoes in Satyaniketan was boggling minds left, right and center at first. Nobody understood how and why would a restaurant employee Specially Abled staff members to wait on tables. It was unique, never been done before, and Echoes nailed it. It made your experience even more special by serving up smiles. The servers would always be happy to help you and you couldn't help but share their happiness. IT WAS MADNESS. I WAS SMILING THROUGHOUT! THE AMBIENCE The expectations set by the outlet in Satyaniketan were hard to match when I stepped in...

AUTHENTIC ORIENTAL - Yum Chi - Review

Image
YUM CHI, VIJAY NAGAR New Delhi is a cauldron of cultures. It has been influenced by every immigrant family that has stepped foot into this great city. And one such culture is the Chinese and Tibetan culture. The food has been greatly influenced by the same and one of their classics has taken over the city by storm by the name "Momo". And somewhere along the line, the authentic Chinese cuisine has been lost. The Delhi-Street-Chinese has taken us to chilli potato, chilli chaap, chowmein, spring rolls and away from the Thukpa, Dimsums and Kotheys. But one restaurant in Vijay Nagar near North Campus of the University of Delhi aims to get people the real taste of the orient. AMBIENCE Yum Chi in Vijay Nagar transports you to the hills of Tibet and the decor is subtle and calming. The flags waving across the roof, the wooden flooring and tables to match the beautiful lights running across the restaurant make for a beautiful setting. The service is friendly and...

THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC - Ministry of Beer: Review

Image
MINISTRY OF BEER, GURGAON They say magic isn't real. They say it's only fables that have kept us believing in this fantasy. I say, you haven't been to Ministry of Beer in Sector 29, Gurgaon yet. It was just the two of us again, my cousin and I, and the next spot on our venture-list was indeed, the biggest property in Gurgaon, Ministry of Beer. Their branch in Connaught Place, the biggest there, hosts a human-sized Bumblebee (the Transformer) which was enough to get me excited about my visit to the one at Gurgaon! But it was a complete overhaul in the experience. From a ravage party based ambience to the one in Connaught Place, the one here had the best of both worlds. A delicate balance between the hip and the heavenly. THE AMBIENCE As soon as you enter the commercial complex at Sector 29, you're in complete awe of the establishments in the vicinity. From My Bar HQ, Molecule Air Bar to the towering Ministry of Beer. There is an aura abou...
