THE URBAN CANTEEN, SHALIMAR BAGH When you talk about great, take-away food, you look for value in your meal. There's no requirement for a good ambience but just some great quality of your food. The Urban Canteen, in BP Block, Shalimar Bagh is one such outlet. It serves some amazing food for dirt cheap prices. I went over to the place looking for some cheap food and found out their combo meal. A large shake and large masala fries for just Rs. 80! (Along with a burger/wrap/pasta) I ordered an Aloo Tikki Burger for Rs 25 and a Chocolate Shake with Masala Fries. I also threw in an Iced Tea for my friend. ALL THIS FOR JUST 155. WHAT A GLORIOUS DEAL! The food was great and dirt cheap! It's a place offering Pizzas, Pastas, Burgers, Wraps, Fries, Shakes and what not! I'll definitely go back for more. ECHOES, HUDSON LANE Not many places make their mark in the Food and Beverage service scene in Delhi like Echoes has done. The second outlet of the famous cafe that started out in Satyaniketan with a concept that no other restaurant came up with, Echoes has been serving up good food along with smiles for over an year now. But this one in Hudson Lane is relatively new and had a lot to live up to. The idea and concept behind Echoes in Satyaniketan was boggling minds left, right and center at first. Nobody understood how and why would a restaurant employee Specially Abled staff members to wait on tables. It was unique, never been done before, and Echoes nailed it. YOUNG WILD FREE CAFE, SATYANIKETAN Satyaniketan is now overburdened with responsibility. Given that it has its twin in GTB Nagar at North Campus, Satyaniketan has become the hub for eateries in South Campus of the University of Delhi. Everyday, thousands of students walk through the lanes of the market. New eateries pop up every other day and some fail miserably, but this one has made its presence known by probably combining everything good about the other cafes under one roof. THE AMBIENCE Young Wild Free Cafe is a tad bit hard to find, given that it is on the first floor right at the end of the lane at Satyaniketan. A narrow stairway that leads up to a slide up door is really underwhelming. The stairway leading up the cafe is squeaky and wobbles when you step on it, making you think you're going to fall. THE JUNCTION, HAUZ KHAS When you're travelling from Dilli Haat at INA towards Hauz Khas Village, the road can look very distracting. Why? Because of the sights and sounds of The Junction. A beautifully lit sign that reads the name of the establishment along with a few others in the vicinity. The entrance to The Junction is a sight in itself, with an archway covered in flowers and a garden that opens up to the exteriors of the eateries. Graffiti laid walls and a tree with lanterns. The perfect place to get a date if you can. THE AMBIENCE The mood inside The Junction is a very rustic place, with minimal interior decoration. The concrete walls and pillars are left the way they are. No plastering on the walls gives he place a rugged look, perfect for the name of the place.
