PROBABLY THE BEST BIRYANI IN SOUTH DELHI

Image
THE BIRYANI PROJECT, GREATER KAILASH 2 Biryani is something that us Delhites have taken to heart. All of us have our own favorite places that serve biryani. And with more than a handful of new joints opening up everywhere, it's hard to pick your one true savior. Whenever you're craving for that handi full of rice, loaded with fried onions and doused with chunks of chicken on the bone, you end up getting it from your nearest "Moradabadi Biryani" store that has a neon sign and just a pateela full of regular old rice and some chicken. They measure it out and serve it to you in disposable plates. Why settle for anything less than a methodically prepared, systematically generated, meticulously synthesized handi of Biryani? The Biryani Project  in Greater Kailash is a result of years of trying and testing and tasting! The people behind this venture have been all across India, trying out various Biryanis the country has to offer. And no no no, they don't ju...

LISTEN TO THE ECHOES - REVIEW - ECHOES, HUDSON LANE

Image
ECHOES, HUDSON LANE Not many places make their mark in the Food and Beverage service scene in Delhi like Echoes has done. The second outlet of the famous cafe that started out in Satyaniketan with a concept that no other restaurant came up with, Echoes has been serving up good food along with smiles for over an year now. But this one in Hudson Lane is relatively new and had a lot to live up to. The idea and concept behind Echoes in Satyaniketan was boggling minds left, right and center at first. Nobody understood how and why would a restaurant employee Specially Abled staff members to wait on tables. It was unique, never been done before, and Echoes nailed it. It made your experience even more special by serving up smiles. The servers would always be happy to help you and you couldn't help but share their happiness. IT WAS MADNESS. I WAS SMILING THROUGHOUT! THE AMBIENCE The expectations set by the outlet in Satyaniketan were hard to match when I stepped in...

AUTHENTIC ORIENTAL - Yum Chi - Review

Image
YUM CHI, VIJAY NAGAR New Delhi is a cauldron of cultures. It has been influenced by every immigrant family that has stepped foot into this great city. And one such culture is the Chinese and Tibetan culture. The food has been greatly influenced by the same and one of their classics has taken over the city by storm by the name "Momo". And somewhere along the line, the authentic Chinese cuisine has been lost. The Delhi-Street-Chinese has taken us to chilli potato, chilli chaap, chowmein, spring rolls and away from the Thukpa, Dimsums and Kotheys. But one restaurant in Vijay Nagar near North Campus of the University of Delhi aims to get people the real taste of the orient. AMBIENCE Yum Chi in Vijay Nagar transports you to the hills of Tibet and the decor is subtle and calming. The flags waving across the roof, the wooden flooring and tables to match the beautiful lights running across the restaurant make for a beautiful setting. The service is friendly and...

TREASURE HUNT! - Masabaa: The Treasury - Review

Image
MASABAA - THE TREASURY, PUNJABI BAGH When out driving with relatives, looking for a family friendly place to dine-in, Punjabi Bagh offers a lot of choices along a single road. However, the loud and vivid appearance of those places don't match the criteria that families look for. But one particular place allures you with its royal appeal. Masabaa - The Treasury. The basic wooden-brown look and the metallic writing of the name of the place welcomes anyone to its Fine Dining restaurant, The Treasury. There is also a lounge and bar area in the lower floors for any party needs! THE AMBIENCE As the name suggests, Masabaa - The Treasury gives a royal feel to the place. Good instrumental music playing over the speaker system, dim lights over a very high-end decor and couches and floors covered in soft-touch cloth. A very comfortable environment to eat in. The service there was exceptional. The servers make you feel special, oh so special. I haven't felt this love sinc...
