THIS JAZZ CLUB IS SERVING SOME GREAT FOOD TOO! - Dirty Apron by The Piano Man - Review
DIRTY APRON BY THE PIANO MAN, SAFDARJUNG
One of the most iconic locations to ever open up in the national capital is The Piano Man. Great music, great vibes and great people! However, that is not all that The Piano Man has to offer. Dirty Apron by The Piano Man is the ultimate marriage of culture and cuisine as the symphony of flavours comes to your plate via the beautiful dishes and drinks being served at Dirty Apron.
Located just above The Piano Man Jazz Club, Dirty Apron is a treat for the eyes as well. The bright and vibrant ambiance is a delight to sit in, and the staff is extremely polite and friendly. One highlight of your experience will be the music that would be playing in the speaker system, just perfect for a restaurant of this stature.
Coming to the meal itself, we started off by ordering ourselves some beverages. The Guavatini had the exotic flavor of guava and a chili kick to it. The perfect way to start your meal, refreshing and exciting! And the Cold Coffee was thick, creamy and tasty. Great stuff to start with!
Next we ordered the Pita Pockets with Chicken Shish Touk which is a complete meal in one. Pita pockets, fries, hummus, tzatziki, pickled vegetables and a brilliant chicken shish touk. This mediterranean appetizer was smooth and rustic. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the umami hummus was a brilliant contrast to the sharp and tart picked vegetables.
The trio of avocado bruschetta. These Avocado Toasts were balanced really well. Textures, flavours, everything went together really well. The heavy and rich guacamole and the various toppings of picked vegetables, herbs, tomatoes, feta and arugula made for a great appetizer!
But the meal was really made by the mains. The Pumpkin Ravioli in Red Curry Sauce was a real surprise. You'd expect Ravioli, a classic Italian pasta, to be served in classic Italian flavours BUT Dirty Apron changes the game by serving it in a Thai Red Curry. This is what fusion food is all about!
Another great dish was the Korean Grilled Chicken with Kimchi Fried Rice. The fried rice was very light and flavoursome, and the pickled carrots really cut through the rich and savoury chicken-rice combo. The chicken was grilled to perfection too.
We ended the meal with a good old Boozy Tiramisu. This classic dessert packed a serious boozy punch to it but was light as air. The chocolate basket also provided a nice textural element to the dish. A great end to the meal!
In all, Dirty Apron by The Piano Man in Safdarjung is a beautiful place that captures the essence of the Jazz Club below. It exemplifies what great food, great music and great vibes are all about. The place is beautiful, it takes you away from the hustle and bustle and noise of the capital and transport you to a happy place. The food is on-point and the service is amicable too.
Dirty Apron is a 5/5 and a must visit!
