KARMA KISMET, GREATER KAILASH 2

GK2 offers a lot of beautiful places to dine in. With the food scene booming in the market over the last couple of years, restaurants really have to compete to find their place. But a pioneer in the fine-dining field is the beautiful Karma Kismet. It is a treat for, both, the eyes and the mouth. Serving some innovative dishes, they offer a new perspective to Awadhi food.

THE AMBIENCE

The place itself is fit for a king. Beautiful dark, mustard interiors. LEDs running across the walls and just the perfect ethnic instrumentals. You know you're in for a treat as soon as you step into their palace of extravagant dreams and gastronomic adventures! But before the fight for the palace begins, you take your seat on one of their velvety, soft-to-touch sofas that are MASSIVE. I thought it was meant to seat 3 people, BUT NO. I WAS WRONG. IT WAS A SPACIOUS 2 SEATER. WHAT EVEN?! ALL THE RULES YOU KNEW ABOUT SEATING WERE OUT THE WINDOW. But the calming music made its mark and I took my seat and prepared myself for the adventure of a lifetime.

But at Kismet Karma, the adventure begins even before you place the order. There's a live kitchen with glass walls. It's a two way mirror so only the customers can see the hardworking chefs and the chefs don't see us, drooling.

THE FOOD

The food at Karma Kismet was NEXT LEVEL. The beauty of the food was beyond my imagination. Never have I seen such finesse, such panache and such elegance in food. First, we were welcomed with Kokum Refreshers. Which were a Kokum drink with fizz. The best thing to kick off your meal with. So fresh, so light, so tart!

Then came the Gucchi Ka Shorba made with 5 types of mushrooms and a broth so flavoursome. The warm shorba poured right infront of your eyes, makes your mouth water before you breath in the fumes rising from the dish. The broth was beautiful! It tasted of warm hugs and cuddles on a cold winter night!

The first appetizer was the Shatavri Ki Tikki served with pecans and cheese. Very crisp and flavoursome!

AND THEN CAME THE SOFTEST KEBABS ON THE FACE OF PLANET EARTH! The Kakori Kebabs were served with some sort of parantha and a raddish and beetroot pickle. The majestic kebabs melted in the mouth and were to die for!

Finally, we were ready for mains but almost too full to order anything else. We asked the server about the specials and he suggested the Karma Ki Raan. WERE WE SURPRISED TO SEE HIM BRING A HUGE LEG PIECE! Mutton, chopped up, probably braised first and then seared on a hot pan to give it a crispy outside. The Karam Ki Raan looked amazing, tasted amazing and was the perfect dish to some up our day at Karma Kismet!

For Dessert, out came the Evolution of the Paan which had a Gulkand Macaron, Saffron Foam, Strawberry Semi-frodo and a Sponge, topped with sweet sweet sugary flakes. To take it all in in one bite was brilliant. The perfect way to finish our meal!

THE VERDICT

Karma Kismet is probably one of the finest places I've been to. It is the perfect combination of great ambience, great food and the perfect service. I'll definitely be a regular visitor to the place!
