Important Places you MUST eat at when you are around IMI

WELCOME TO THE B-SCHOOL WORLD!

It's been MONTHS since we were in and around the main campus of IMI, New Delhi in the heart of Qutab Institutional Area, but we still can't help but miss the hustle and bustle of all the social hot spots nearby! Let's take you on a journey BACK to the good food we had when living Life At IMI! And all you new comers who'll soon be going to Sonu (and then also realize Sonu is a scam and Pappu is the real deal), here's a sneak peak into what you can expect!

PAPPU BHAIYA KI MAGGI

First and foremost, all of us remember the friendly, jovial and always busy Pappu bhaiya. And absolutely nobody went there alone! It was either to catch up with a friend who's been busy with classes, or with the entire class during the break! And the struggle to make sure your coffee didn't spill when you rushed back to class. Oof. F in the chat for all those burnt fingers.

But one very underrated dish at Pappu's is the classic Maggi. I'm pretty sure the one which people get with extra masala is just due to his added khoon paseena. But it's definitely a MUST for anybody at IMI. Good stuff, Papps.

SECULAR HOUSE CANTEEN

There's also some pseudo-upper class elites who think the mess AND Pappu is below them. They want a proper dining experience. But still want to do it in under 150 bucks per head. That is why they go to Secular House Canteen. This government mess-esque eatery near JNU serves some great Indian cuisines which are cheap too! Show your IMI ID card and get 15% off!

SDA MARKET

Yes, the one place all IMItes escape to live the Delhi life, only to realise that SDA is the gareeb version of Hauz Khas Village. SDA Market lures people in with the bright lights and the sounds of live music! But there's also tons of great places to eat at. Including the very unique New Delhi Fried Chicken Co. which gives KFC a run for its money!

Or if you wish to avoid the expensive joints, try the street food! Momos, Tikki, Gol Gappe and Shawarma.

But we all know SDA is the place to go for an impromptu night of drinks! There's plenty of options for you to visit, have a round of drinks under happy hours, and jam to live music. #NoFilter shown here also has a great view of the market!

RUSTIQUE

We all know that one couple who became soulmates in the first trimester itself. These are the kind of people who make you furiously apply for the Buddy Program in the hopes of getting someone of the opposite gender! And for these people, and more, the perfect place is Rustique at Essex Farms. This beautiful Victorian England inspired eatery is the perfect date spot. The ambiance, the music and the food, everything will make for a great evening with loved ones!

RAJINDER DA DHABA

This one's a favorite of ALL Delhites when it comes to around IMI, New Delhi. Rajinder Da Dhaba is a classic that you'll find yourself visiting every time you crave some GREAT North Indian! Kebabs, Tikkas, Naans, Curries, everything they do, is amazing.

And remember to be friends with that one Delhite who gets his car to campus! Sitting in your car and gauging away at tikkas is an experience in itself.

GLOBE

Unfortunately, not everyone will get a chance to visit all of these places on a daily basis. Thus.. we have Globe. Keep in mind the place itself isn't named Globe. We asked around at IIFT where Globe was, even they did not know! The place is called Sanjay Tea Point / Koli Dhaba but every IMIte calls it Globe. Why? It doesn't even have global cuisine. It's paranthe, noodles, eggs, rice, rolls, wraps, sandwiches, momos, appetizers, bhel, shakes, drinks and OH MY GOD THE LIST IS ENDLESS!

Globe is the perfect blend of variety, taste and economical meals! 15-20 people can easily eat here at under 2k! CRAZY.

CHHOLE KULCHE

No matter how good all the above options are, as a student who missed breakfast, as a student who had to take an auto to campus because they missed the bus, as a student who HAS to eat something before the class begins and wants to get free refills of chhole... you get to eating Chhole Kulche.

20 bucks a piece, with endless supply of chhole, pickles, chilies and raita worth Rs. 10, you're sorted for every meal you want to have.

Which one of these is YOUR favorite? Did we miss out on anything? Tell us in the comments!
