THE WAFFLE HOUSE, SHALIMAR BAGH

The past few years have seen a gust of innovation and change sweep over Delhi. Two years ago it was Momos, lately it has been Waffles! With a store selling these hot, fresh baked pockets of delish around every corner. One such outlet is The Waffle House at BB Block of Shalimar Bagh.

THE AMBIENCE

I visited The Waffle House on a freezing winter evening, with the skies dark and the wind chilling me to my core. But the fun, vibrant and warm appeal of The Waffle House made us sit on the chairs outside the outlet. The bright yellow of the place gave out a pretty positive vibe and warmed me up real nice. They played some pretty good music as well! Including Ed Sheeran and Justin Beiber (the good kind, not Baby for the love of all that's sacred and holy).


There is a false grass carpet laid out the outlet and it adds to the chilled out ambience of the place. Adding to the festive season, they'd put out a Christmas Tree with decor to match! The outlet is a perfect cap off to the up and coming Shalimar Bagh food scene.

THE FOOD

Given that I stepped into The Waffle House to curb my craving for Waffles, we looked at their specials which included a Hong Kong Bubble Waffle Cup for Rs. 320/-, which was a Jumbo Sized waffle, but we decided to go for 2 Waffles to try more! One was the White Fantasy Waffle, topped off with melted white chocolate, white chocolate chips, rainbow sprinkles and a scoop of vanilla icecream! The second option was the Nutella Brownie Waffle which was just so dark and gooey and chocolatey. Topped off with Nutella, chocolate chips and served with vanilla icecream, this one complimented the white fantasy perfectly well!



The only concern I have with these waffles was the pricing. For Rs. 100 you'd get only a quarter of a waffle whilst other places serve half a waffle for the same price. But given that this outlet is on a fairly isolated road, their pricing is justified for them. I'd visit if I was dying without my dose of waffles!

LIT BAR AND RISTORANTE, GK3 Greater Kailash 3, or Masjid Moth, is the lesser known cousin of the other GKs. is the posh one. Not that GK1 or GK2 are any less, but my God, is GK3 beautiful. MINISTRY OF BEER, GURGAON They say magic isn't real. They say it's only fables that have kept us believing in this fantasy. I say, you haven't been to Ministry of Beer in Sector 29, Gurgaon yet.
